CRIMSON

Simply put, this photo shoot was fun. I remember feeling excited to be working with a model from an agency. The excitement was built up in increments. First there was reaching out to her. She told me she was interested, (which was exciting) but I had to talk to her agent first, (not so exiting). So I sent him an email explaining who I am, my background, my interest, (which was exciting) - and he replied back saying there was a cost to shooting with Amelie (not so exciting). At the time, I was a full time student and a part time employee struggling to indulge myself into the world of photography. Truthfully, I wasn't in the right place in my career to pay for a model. So, I thanked him for his time and explained my unfortunate limitations (not so exciting), and I thought that would be the end of it. Until a few days later I heard back from Amelie personally through a Facebook message. She told me she talked to her agent again and got him to agree on working with me at no cost... I'm sure you can predict that at this point in the story I was fucking excited! After dancing back and forth with both Amelie and her agent, in the end the universe worked in my favour and I learned the valuable lesson that if you want something, sometimes you just have to go for it. I don't know what it was about me or what it was I might have said that convinced Amelie to protest her agent to work with me, but it had re-instilled  a lot of the confidence I had neglected towards my path in photography.

I was so excited... And she was lovely.
